About Us

In addition to direct care, the WCPO is dedicated to raising public awareness about wildlife conservation issues and fostering community involvement. We believe that educating local communities and engaging volunteers are crucial for the success of our mission. Furthermore, our team collaborates with local stakeholders to develop sustainable practices that benefit both wildlife and the people of Cambodia. By extending various forms of assistance and advocating for wildlife protection, the WCPO aims to make a lasting impact on the preservation of Cambodia's rich biodiversity. Together, we can create a safer environment for wildlife and inspire future generations to cherish and protect our natural heritage.

Our Story

At the Wildlife Conservation and Prevention Organization (WCPO), our journey began with a profound love for wildlife and a deep concern for the challenges they face. Founded by a passionate group of animal advocates, we recognized the urgent need to address the plight of countless wild animals in Cambodia, many of whom are threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and the cruel pet trade.

From our humble beginnings, we focused on rescuing injured and abandoned wildlife, providing them with the medical care and rehabilitation they desperately needed. With each animal we saved, our commitment to conservation grew stronger. We quickly realized that our mission extended beyond rescue; it involved educating local communities, raising awareness about wildlife welfare, and advocating for stronger protection measures.

As we witnessed the alarming number of pet monkeys suffering from neglect and abuse, we knew we had to take action. This led us to expand our goals to include the establishment of a rehabilitation center—a safe haven where these vulnerable creatures can heal and thrive. Our vision is to not only rescue and rehabilitate but also to educate the public about the importance of wildlife conservation and the role we all play in preserving our natural heritage.

Today, the WCPO stands as a beacon of hope for wildlife in need. We are dedicated to caring for these animals and working tirelessly to return them to their natural habitats whenever possible. Our mission is fueled by the support of compassionate individuals and organizations who share our vision for a world where wildlife can live freely and safely.

As we look to the future, we invite you to join us on this journey. Together, we can make a meaningful impact for wildlife, ensuring a better tomorrow for the animals that share our planet.

The Wildlife Conservation and Prevention Organization (WCPO) is a non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Interior under Prakas No. 2080, dated April 6, 2020. In our commitment to wildlife preservation, we signed a project agreement and a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on February 1, 2021. This collaboration aims to strengthen the conservation and protection of wildlife health in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The WCPO is actively engaged in rescuing sick and injured wildlife, providing essential medical treatment, and offering rehabilitation services. We also assist wildlife that faces challenges during childbirth, ensuring they receive the necessary support in critical moments. Our organization provides temporary shelter and nutrition for wildlife unable to fend for themselves, safeguarding the health and well-being of both new and existing animals.
